Girls’ track and field has been contested for nearly 50 years in Logan County. The county has seen its fair share of excellent throwers through the decades.
When her career is complete, Bellefontaine’s Kelsie Snapp should stand out as the greatest of them all.
The Junior broke Brenda Johnson’s Bellefontaine Shot put record with a throw of 42 feet 1.5 inches at Urbana High School last week. The throw marks the longest in Logan County history.
Snapp, already a two-time state qualifier in discus and shot put, also leads the county in the discus with a throw of 126 feet 10 inches. Snapp finished in third place a season ago at the State Track and Field meet in shot put.
All Athletes of the Week will receive a custom shirt courtesy of Eichholtz, Daring & Sanford and 4Sight Insurance and Financial.
